Leanne Wilkins / Guitar, Vocals
Since she began performing 1998, Leanne has captured diverse audiences with her heart-felt lyrics and soulful melodies. Her songs convey a prominent element of honesty, multiplying the depth of emotion behind her lyrics that pulls the heartstrings of listeners. Often drawing upon her own experiences, her songwriting expresses her visions on relationships, identity, and the search for truth.
Leanne discovered her passion for music at the age of four, and she devoted her childhood to studying piano. When she began playing guitar at age 16, however, she found that her heart was synchronous with the rhythm of acoustic rock music. Over time, her style has been infused with elements of Americana, roots rock and blues. Influences including Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, and Kathleen Edwards also create subtle undertones in her music.
Her first studio album Waterwheel, recorded at the Track Shack in Seattle, Washington, was released in May 2008. The album includes 12 songs she wrote over the span of a decade, revisiting wistful pop songs written in her late teens (Surrender, Into Oblivion), and concluding with her later songwriting explorations in Americana and roots rock (Earth Meets Sky, Why Didn’t I). The album is available for purchase online through CD Baby, and tracks may be downloaded through iTunes, Amazon, and a variety of other distributors.
The Weathered formed in August 2013 with Michael Rognlie [bass] and Derek Pulvino [lead guitar], and Travis Yost [drums] joined in March 2015. The melding of influences and styles has produced a complex flavor of soulful rock that is sure to leave music fans craving more. The band performs regularly in venues throughout the greater Seattle area.
Derek Pulvino / Lead Guitar
With guitar work described by Seattle Sound Magazine as both moody and twangy, Derek Pulvino combines a certain melodic and atmospheric sensibility with a love for locked in, driving rhythms. Derek has honed this style in the studio and on stage alike, recording in studios, bedrooms, and basements across Seattle, and sharing billings with artists as diverse as Star Anna and the Laughing Dogs, North Twin, Legendary Oaks, Point Juncture WA, Eighteen Individual Eyes, and The Head and the Heart. This whole adventure was set off when Derek got his first guitar in college, and well, it’s continued ever since.
Michael Rognlie / Bass
Dedicated and dynamic bassist Michael Rognlie got his start playing and recording with San Francisco Bay Area bands, Trip and Vacuum Tree Head in the 90’s. His talents in the studio have lent him the opportunity to record and perform session work with several different bands from coast to coast, including credit on the Santa Cruz Skateboards video “Guarte”. After performing in New York City for a few years, Michael brought his creativity, and intuitive syncopated style to the Pacific Northwest with a smooth blend of Jazz, Funk and Rhythm & Blues.
